| John
Baloyi. |
| John
Baloyi was born in 1964. |
| He is Shangaan by birth
and lives in the Northern Province. |
| He started sculpting
at the age of eight, showing a precocious talent. |
| Economic circumstances
led him to working on the mines to supplement his income. |
| Fortunately,
he has been able to carve on a full-time basis for the past ten years, and his
work is now in private and corporate collections in Germany, Australia, Japan,
Holland, Belgium, Korea, Botswana, England and, of course, South Africa. |
| He
most enjoys sculptures, harmonizing his artistic vision with the natural forms
of old wood. | | |

| In
conjunction with the artist, John Baloyi, Mukondeni has constructed an
Art Gallery in Mashamba. |
| | | The
Gallery has been designed to reflect the ethnic diversity of the rural environment. |
| It
is John Baloyi's and Neill's own intention that
the Gallery has to contain works from other artists and crafters in the area.
| Mukondeni
arts and crafts has been instrumental in the establishment of the following:
The Mashamba
Art Gallery
&
Ditike in Venda Self Help projects An Artist and a Cultural village.
