Gallery 181 proudly presents one of the most extensive and representative collections of authentic South African art for sale to date.
All artworks have been acquired for Galley 181 by Mr Neillen van Kraayenburg. The collection spans 14 years and comprises various works representative of artists from the Limpopo Province, where sculpture is deeply rooted in tradition. Artists featured in the collection are well-known both locally and internationally, with works acquired by museums and collectors worldwide. The collection includes both indoor and outdoor artworks.
It is our primary intention to promote and sell the entire collection. The collection is to be sold on a tender basis, whereby interested parties make an offer on an individual artwork or a grouping of works. However, offers to purchase individual pieces will only be accepted once offers have been made for the entire collection. Major pieces will be priced individually and sub-groups will be priced as individual collections. Price reserves will be attached to each individual piece and sub-group. At the end of the tender process, each sub-group will be sold to the highest bidder.
For your viewing convenience and due to the sheer volume of the collection, we have chosen to include in the catalogue only a select few images of the strongest works by each artist. The collection has been broken down into various categories and sub-categories, namely Artifacts, Sculpture and Art Furniture.
The collection is open for viewing by appointment only.
